Our community is more of a semirural area with few amenities and job opportunities and as a result unemployment is very high. Majority of the jobless are young people who do just want handout but love and skills. Our prayer is to encourage them and where possible link them with jobseekers networks that will ultimately absorb them into the labour market. We are grateful for missions organizations that wishes to partner with us in this endeavour.
One worrying factor with this poor young people is their use and abuse of drug commonly known in our communities as 'nyaope' they use every money they earn from the exchange of recycling metal, papers and bottles to buy these deadly drugs. Already the whole community is agonizing about this escalating behaviour amongst the youth and we are happy to make our small contribution to help curb this unbecoming behaviour in our community.
